sale in Michigan are ranked among the lowest the nation.

Despite this fact, there's not a lot of buying or selling going on in Michigan right
now. Maybe real estate investors, developers and prospective home owners are merely

land for the lowest price possible. Some Michigan realtors fear that Michigan's real
estate market will never fully recover. There's a lot of affordable housing

According to Ralph Marcus Maupin, a college instructor and real estate expert,
"People take more than the price of a house into consideration when their thinking
about buying." He attributes the lack of realty activity to the dilapidated
condition of the state. "With jobs cutting back in addition to the high crime rate
in some areas, people who are looking to buy a home are thinking twice about
settling here." says Maupin. Nevertheless he is confident that Michigan's real
estate market will recover, just maybe not before the state budget is balanced, the
job market is restored and the school districts are repaired.
